Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to get started

>Is Albion Online free to play?

Yes. The game is free to download and play. Premium status and gold can be purchased, but both can also be earned in-game through trading.

>What platforms can I play on?

Windows, Mac, Linux and Android, with iOS support planned. Every platform connects to the same single world, so your character comes with you.

>Is there a single server?

Yes. Every player shares one world, which is what makes a single unified economy and persistent territory control possible.

>Do I lose my equipment when I die?

In the yellow, red and black zones, defeat means dropping your gear. The starting blue zones are safe, so you choose how much risk to take on.

>Are there character classes?

No. Your capabilities come from the equipment you wear, and you can change roles simply by changing gear. Progression is tracked on the Destiny Board.

>What does Premium do?

Premium increases fame gain and yields from gathering, refining and crafting. It does not grant combat power that free players cannot obtain.

>How does the economy work?

Almost every item in the game is crafted by players from gathered resources, and traded at city marketplaces where players set the prices.

>Do I need a guild?

Not to start, but guilds are how players claim territory, run large-scale battles and compete in seasons. Most long-term play happens through them.
